Hydrolyzes 4-hydroxybenzoate-CoA, and to a lesser extent benzoyl-CoA and 4-chlorobenzoate-CoA. Not active against aliphatic acyl-CoA thioesters, including palmitoyl-CoA, hexanoyl-CoA and acetyl-CoA.
