Dalfopristin is an antibiotic used with quinupristin to treat severe or life-threatening infections of vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VREF), and skin infections caused by methicillin susceptible staphylococcus aureus or streptococcus pyogenes. It is not effective against Enterococcus faecalis infections.
