NP2 is the first drug developed for use in Diamyd Medical's Nerve Targeting Drug Delivery System (NTDDS) gene therapy platform to treat chronic pain associated with cancer. NP2 produces localized enkaphalins (endogenous pain killing compounds) at the synapses between the peripheral and central nervous system neurons.
