Axatilimab is a high affinity antibody targeting colony stimulating factor 1 receptors (CSF-1R). The inhibition of CSF-1R reduces circulating levels of pro-inflammatory and pro-fibrotic monocytes and macrophages, ultimately resulting in reduced activity of pathogenic macrophages in tissues.
