Serplulimab is a monoclonal antibody targeting the PD-1 receptor used for the treatment of extensive-stage small cell lung cancer. It was first approved in China - where it is indicated for a number of different cancers - and has since been approved in several southeast Asian countries.
- Mechanism
- Curator reviewed · 2 references
The ligands PD-L1 and PD-L2 bind to the PD-1 receptor on T-cells, inhibiting the action of these cells. Tumor cells express PD-L1 and PD-L2 in order to evade the normal immune response. Serplulimab is an inhibitor of PD-1 - it prevents PD-L1 and PD-L2 from binding to T-cells, thereby restoring a patient's tumor-specific T-cell response.
- Primary indication
- Serplulimab is indicated in combination with carboplatin and etoposide for the first-line treatment of adult patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC).Curator reviewed · 1 structured indication
