Florquinitau (18F) is a fluorine-18 radioactive diagnostic tracer that binds aggregated tau and is used for brain PET imaging to identify tau neurofibrillary tangle pathology in adults with cognitive impairment being evaluated for Alzheimer's disease. It binds to aggregated tau protein, which in Alzheimer's disease forms the neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) that are one of the two components required for a neuropathological diagnosis of the disease.
