Drug Drug Description Chloramphenicol A broad spectrum antibiotic that is effective against a variety of susceptible and serious bacterial infections but is not frequently used because of its high risk of bone marrow toxicity. Betamethasone A systemic corticosteroid used to relieve inflammation in various conditions, including but not limited to allergic states, dermatologic disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, and hematological disorders. Ciprofloxacin A second generation fluoroquinolone used to treat various susceptible bacterial infections. Hydrocortisone A glucocorticoid used to treat corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, endocrine disorders, immune conditions, and allergic disorders. Tetracycline An antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of susceptible infections. Gentamicin An aminoglycoside used to treat a wide variety of aerobic infections in the body. Prednisolone A glucocorticoid used to treat adrenocortical insufficiency, inflammatory conditions, and some cancers. Chlorhexidine An antiseptic used to sterilize for surgeries and in healthcare practice, to reduce pocket depth in periodontitis, and to treat gingivitis. Neomycin An aminoglycoside antibiotic agent used orally and topically to treat a wide variety of infections in the body. Dexamethasone A glucocorticoid available in various modes of administration that is used for the treatment of various inflammatory conditions, including bronchial asthma, as well as endocrine and rheumatic disorders. Hexamidine An antiseptic drug used for dermatomycoses and superficial bacterial infections alone or in combination with clotrimazole. Polymyxin B A polymyxin antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of infections in the body.
