Meplazumab is a humanized anti-CD147 antibody being investigated as an add-on therapy in patients with COVID-19 pneumonia.

Mechanism: Meplazumab is an anti-CD147 antibody, which is a recepor on host cells for viruses such as SARS-CoV2. Meplazumab's inhibition of CD147 binding to the spike proteins of viruses is thought to inhibit their entry.
