Attapulgite is a veterinary antidiarrheal agent used to treat non-infectious diarrhea in animals. Attapulgite is a magnesium aluminium phyllosilicate which occurs in a type of clay soil common to the Southeastern United States.

Mechanism: Attapulgite adsorbs water, toxins and bacteria, contributing to firmer stools, reducing fluid loss from diarrhea.
