Drug Drug Description Botulinum toxin type A A purified form of botulinum toxin type A used to block acetylcholine release in the treatment of chronic sialorrhea, muscle spasticity, and dystonia, as well as in cosmetic applications. Masoprocol Used for the treatment of actinic keratoses (precancerous skin growths that can become malignant if left untreated). Amphetamine A CNS stimulant and sympathomimetic agent indicated for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Nicotine A stimulatory alkaloid found in tobacco products that is often used for the relief of nicotine withdrawal symptoms and as an aid to smoking cessation. Cevimeline A muscarinic agonist with parasympathomimetic activities that is used for the symptomatic treatment of dry mouth in patients with Sjögren's Syndrome. Lorazepam A short-acting benzodiazepine commonly used to treat panic disorders, severe anxiety, and seizures. Phentermine A sympathomimetic anorectic agent used as a short-term adjunct therapy that is included in a regimen of weight reduction in cases of exogenous obesity. Tramadol A centrally-acting opioid agonist and SNRI (serotonin/norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor) used for the management of moderate to severe pain in adults. Betaxolol A cardioselective beta blocking agent commonly used to treat hypertension and elevated intraocular pressure (when administered ophthalmically). Succinylcholine A depolarizing skeletal muscle relaxant used adjunctly to anesthesia and for skeletal muscle relaxation during intubation, mechanical ventilation, and surgical procedures. Trospium An antimuscarinic agent used to treat the symptoms of overactive bladder (OAB). Midodrine An alpha-adrenergic agonist used to treat orthostatic hypotension. Bethanidine For the treatment of hypertension. Oxyphenonium For the treatment of visceral spasms Isoetharine For the treatment of asthma, wheezing, and chronic asthmatic bronchitis. Pregabalin An anticonvulsant drug used to treat neuropathic pain conditions and fibromyalgia, and for the treatment of partial onset seizures in combination with other anticonvulsants. Benzatropine An anticholinergic drug used to treat Parkinson's disease (PD) and extrapyramidal symptoms, except tardive dyskinesia. Theophylline A xanthine used to manage the symptoms of asthma, COPD, and other lung conditions caused by reversible airflow obstruction. Lidocaine A local anesthetic used in a wide variety of superficial and invasive procedures. Morphine An opioid agonist used for the relief of moderate to severe acute and chronic pain. Ropivacaine An analgesic drug used for local or regional anesthesia for surgery and short-term management of pain. Bupivacaine A local anesthetic used in a wide variety of superficial and invasive procedures. Dihydroergotamine An ergot alkaloid used in the acute treatment of migraine headache and cluster headache. Hydromorphone An opioid analgesic used to treat moderate to severe pain when the use of an opioid is indicated. Indomethacin A nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) used for symptomatic management of chronic musculoskeletal pain conditions and to induce closure of a hemodynamically significant patent ductus arteriosus in premature infants. Ipratropium An anticholinergic drug used in the control of symptoms related to bronchospasm in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Methadone An opioid analgesic indicated for management of severe pain that is not responsive to alternative treatments. Also used to aid in detoxification and maintenance treatment of opioid addiction. Olanzapine An antipsychotic drug used in the management of schizophrenia, bipolar 1 disorder, and agitation associated with these disorders. Atenolol A synthetic beta-1 selective blocker used in the management of hypertension and chronic angina, and to reduce mortality in known or suspected myocardial infarction in hemodynamically stable patients. Pimecrolimus A topical calcineurin inhibitor used in the treatment of mild-moderate atopic dermatitis who are not candidates for other types of therapy due to previous lack of response or other reasons. Chlorzoxazone A drug with muscle relaxant properties that is used as an adjunct to physical therapy and analgesics to treat stiffness and pain caused by a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Doxylamine An antihistamine used to treat insomnia and allergy symptoms and is used with pyridoxine in the treatment of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy. Norepinephrine A sympathomimetic used in the control of blood pressure during various hypotensive states and as an adjunct treatment during cardiac arrest. Meprobamate An anxiolytic drug used for the short-term management of anxiety symptoms. Thiethylperazine A drug used for the treatment of nausea and vomiting. Tacrine An anticholinesterase drug used for the management of Alzheimer's disease symptoms. Phenylephrine An alpha-1 adrenergic agonist used in the management of hypotension, generally in the surgical setting associated with the use of anesthetics. Phenylpropanolamine A sympathomimetic that was previously used in nasal decongestants and weight loss products, but has been withdrawn by the FDA due to safety risks and lack of efficacy. Carbamoylcholine A direct acting miotic agent administered ophthalmically to decrease intraocular pressure after cataract surgery, and to induce miosis during surgery. Metocurine iodide For use as an anesthesia adjunct to induce skeletal muscle relaxation and to reduce the intensity of muscle contractions in convulsive therapy. Promazine A phenothiazine used to manage schizophrenia. Methocarbamol A CNS depressant indicated with rest, physical therapy and other treatments to control the discomfort associated with various acute musculoskeletal conditions. Hyoscyamine An anticholinergic indicated to treat functional gastrointestinal disorders, biliary and renal colic, and acute rhinitis. Prochlorperazine A phenothiazine derivative used in the treatment of schizophrenia and anxiety and to relieve severe nausea and vomiting. Nitric Oxide A vasodilating agent used in the treatment of hypoxic respiratory failure in premature neonates. Droperidol A butyrophenone derivative and dopamine antagonist used to prevent and treat postoperative nausea and vomiting. Meperidine An opioid agonist with analgesic and sedative properties used to manage severe pain. Quinine An alkaloid used to treat uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria. Tenoxicam An anti inflammatory analgesic used to treat mild to moderate pain as well as the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Dronabinol A synthetic delta-9-THC used in the treatment of anorexia and weight loss in HIV patients as well as nausea and vomiting in cancer chemotherapy. Duloxetine A serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor used to treat generalized anxiety disorder, neuropathic pain, osteoarthritis, and stress incontinence. Chlorpromazine A phenothiazine antipsychotic used to treat nausea, vomiting, preoperative anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and severe behavioral problems in children. Celecoxib An NSAID used to treat osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, acute pain, menstrual symptoms, and to reduce polyps is familial adenomatous polyposis. Gallamine triethiodide A nondepolarizing nerve blocker used in addition to anesthesia to cause skeletal muscle relaxation. Nabilone A synthetic delta-9-THC used in the treatment of anorexia and weight loss in HIV patients as well as nausea and vomiting in cancer chemotherapy. Sotalol A methane sulfonanilide beta adrenergic antagonist used to treat life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias and to maintain sinus rhythm in atrial fibrillation or flutter. Oxycodone An opioid used in the management of moderate to severe pain. Tolmetin An NSAID used to treat acute flares of various painful conditions and used for the long term management of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile arthritis. Haloperidol An antipsychotic agent used to treat schizophrenia and other psychoses, as well as symptoms of agitation, irritability, and delirium. Levallorphan For the complete or partial reversal of narcotic depression, including respiratory depression, induced by opioids. Triflupromazine Used mainly in the management of psychoses. Carbamazepine An anticonvulsant used to treat various types of seizures and pain resulting from trigeminal neuralgia. Cisatracurium A skeletal muscle relaxant used to facilitate tracheal intubation, muscle relaxation in surgery, or mechanical ventilation. Atropine A muscarinic antagonist used to treat poisoning by muscarinic agents, including organophosphates and other drugs. Fenoprofen An anti-inflammatory analgesic used to treat mild to moderate pain in addition to the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
